Preview Art by Sarina Tomchin. 4th in my Coastal themed paintings, these are all a figment of my imagination, a conglomeration of every beautiful beach I have ever been to. I was sick of painting the complex stuff I had been doing, so got heavy gauge, textured canvas and just slapped the paint on very relaxed. I wanted to paint COASTAL scenes, of the life I wanna live: relaxed, carefree, overlooking water, surf, sand. Goggles, books, cups of coffee, surfboards, skis, flippers, cozzies, towels, shells...things just strewn about to dry on sun-aged, bleached timber decks and deckchairs. Hibiscus and frangipani, favourite flowers. This is the essence of Coastal living and that is what I really wanted to paint. The original is 122 x 101cm on canvas. Stitching on chair thru canvas The hibiscus stamen is beaded, stitched thru the canvas as well.

Preview This is a piece I did when I was first getting back into paint after about a year and a half break. At this point in my life I was debating whether to move to Baja Mexico or further into Mexico to the State of Sinaloa. I painted this piece because I had made many trips down to Punta Abreojos and it was really the beginning of my adventures. I later ended up living in the Ensenada area for a year and a half and have since moved back to Ensenada and am plugged into the local surfing scene.

Preview Ticla is a spot in Mexico that has concrete floored palapas for rent. You can pitch your tent or hammock and surf right out in front of the huts. This piece is about arriving and swapping info with someone who just got out of the water. You find out what the waves were like the past few days, tell them where your coming from, and both of you talk about "the new South swell" thats supposed to hit.
